One of the things almost all of my new clients ask me is:

“How can I believe that I will reach my goals when I have never done it before?

Here’s my favorite analogy.

Just like a baby learning to walk. No matter how many times they wobble, scrape themselves and fall. They keep trying. They have this inherent belief that they’ll figure it out even though they’ve never done it before.

Imagine you had this belief in yourself.

You would not get discouraged by failure as youd realize that it’s part of the path to reach success. You would remain in good spirits, try a new way, and keep going.

And you’d reach the goal. Like the baby who ALWAYS figures out how to walk, you will always reach your goal.

If you believe.

Similar to an Amazon package. You place the order and fully believe it will arrive. You don’t double check or obsess over the delivery. You order, you believe, you receive.

In life there are no guarantees. That does not have to stop us from believing and taking action AS IF it was guaranteed.

If you went to college, you believed you would leave with your degree, even though there is always the possibility for the degree to not materialize. (You may be forced to drop out due to illness, you could fail a class, have to relocate etc.) The lack of guarantee did not stop you from paying, from taking the classes, studying, and giving it your all.

Imagine you trusted that you would reach your career or personal goals the same way?

That belief would allow you to take massive action and reach your goal every time.

What goal are you having trouble believing in?

Imagine what would be possible if you did believe!

Something that I am really proud of is my morning exercise routine.

I have kept up my morning workout routine for close to a year now. But I wasn’t always this way.

The reason I’ve been able to keep this up is because I am extremely specific about my goal and make plans every day to get it done.

Good goals are ones that are specific!

The more specific you are about what you want to accomplish, the quicker you get it done!

Being specific takes away all the guesswork. It leaves just the action that you planned and committed to getting done.

Simple, right?

Of course, challenges can still get in the way, but making your goals specific really simplifies things.

Back to my exercise. I’ve had years where I would be great about exercise, then trickle off, then start again.

I could never figure out where the inconsistency was coming from until recently.

I finally realized that the inconsistency came from not having a specific plan. Exercise was a priority for me, but I never knew what workout I was doing, in what location, for how long, and at what time?

Trying to figure this out each morning was exhausting and time consuming. After a few weeks I’d get burnt out and forget about working out. A couple weeks later, id remember, and the guilt would kick in.

I am so grateful that I finally figured out how to get specific and consistent with my exercise. I see the results in every area of my life.

TAKE ACTION: Think of something you really want to incorporate into your schedule, but you just haven’t gotten around to doing. What can you do to make that goal super specific and simple to achieve?

Let me know below!

Do you ever get super stressed thinking about your week ahead?

It’s really common!

The later it is in the week, the more unsettled we often feel thinking about the week ahead.

What really helps me stay in the moment and not feel stressed about next week’s workload, is setting a time to plan.

I usually do this on Sunday evenings and what I do is:

  • Take some quiet time to open up my Google calendar and planner and map out my week.
  • I note the meetings I have set and the tasks I have planned.
  • I then map out my big goals for the week. I started doing this when I realized how easy it is to get busy with the small, yet important things, and totally forget the big picture.
  • Then, once I establish my goals, I find ways to ensure they will happen that week. I brainstorm ideas, jot down small tasks and get really creative with ways to be successful.

This routine leaves me feeling calm and even excited for Monday. Once Monday comes I am ready to kick *** and get right into power mode!

Whether you have a full time job, side business, are an entrepreneur or stay at home mom, this routine helps you avoid the Monday blues.

My morning routine is very important to me.

Rain or shine, I set my alarm and have a specific list of tasks I aim to accomplish before I officially start my day. Some days it’s really tough, but I push through knowing how good I feel when I start my day on the right foot.

(You can grab a copy of my morning routine, here.)

The key to the whole routine is not something super fancy. You’d probably never guess it.

The key to my morning routine is not hitting the snooze button.

Now I know a lot of people purposely set their alarms a couple of minutes earlier in order to indulge in the satisfying feeling of snoozing that alarm and grabbing a couple of extra minutes of beauty sleep.

Besides for the fact that those few extra minutes are only a few extra minutes, meaning not making a difference in how rested you actually feel that day, there is a big problem with hitting the snooze button.

Why’s that?

Well, is checking off your to do list important to you? Do you try to start your day in a way that sets you up to WIN?

Hitting the snooze button does the exact opposite. It sends your body the wrong message, without you even realizing it.

When you hit that snooze button you don’t start your day with a winning mindset. You end up feeling more foggy and tired than you would have felt if you would have jumped out of bed right away.

When you resist the urge to hit “snooze” you make a powerful choice right away, which starts your day on a high note. It sets the tone for you to be intentional and purposeful throughout your day.

Don’t underestimate this small habit. It works wonders.

Let’s get real, setting goals can be tough.

You have those grand plans of making this awesome change whether it’s starting to make time for yourself, get healthier, or stress less at work, and it just doesn’t happen!

This happened to me a couple months back.

I made this plan of adding something fun into my daily schedule. I thought I had the steps and details sorted out. I was ready to go, but a month or two later, I realized that I had barely begun to incorporate those fun ideas into my life. That didn’t feel great. (You might be wondering, adding more fun into your life sounds awesome! Why couldn’t she stick to it? But, you also probably know that when your time is competing for so many things, it’s hard to add something new, even when we know the benefits.)

So here’s a couple of tricks that work when goal setting gets really hard:

1.Have an Accountability Buddy.

Tell someone about what you’re doing. Research shows that having an accountability partner increases your chances of completing the goal by 65%. That’s huge! Your accountability partner can be a spouse, sibling, friend, parent, or even co worker, Just be sure to tell them what you are doing and that you’ll report to them with your progress. This will help you get serious and really take those action steps. You wouldn’t want to let your friend down!1.1.

2.Reevaluate.

When we don’t complete our goal, we must evaluate how realistic the goal was in the first place. Was this goal too much of a stretch? I personally (along with other professionals) feel that goals should be realistic with a small stretch, especially at first. Pushing yourself past your typical limits is great and necessary to achieve success, but only when the goal is still realistic. You don’t want to stretch too far and set yourself to fail because this will just get you down and not in the mood to try again. So if you’re having trouble, your goal may need some tweaks. Maybe putting $500 in your savings account every month is too much for you, or not exciting enough. Reevaluate!

If you are having trouble with a goal you set, use these two steps to get back on track! Comment below with the action you took.

You got this,

Setting goals is amazing for short term and long term motivation.
It helps you focus on your priorities, rather than other tasks.
Here are three steps to setting goals that you’ll actually accomplish:

1.Set Specific Goals.

Be as specific as possible when setting a goal. The more vague your goal is, the more likely that it will remain an idea on the back burner.

Here’s a personal example: Over the past few years I had these grand plans and hopes of starting to exercise. Every so often I’d roll out a yoga mat or join a class, but it never stuck. After a while, I’d reflect that I was so far off from my hopes of exercising consistently and it really made me feel crappy. I then realized that my idea was just a dream and so far from reality because I didn’t set a specific goal. Once I realized this I sat down and mapped out a plan for myself. I set a goal to follow a specific workout plan 5 days a week for 30 minutes a day. What happened next was amazing! I stuck to the plan to the T! Because the goal was extremely specific, it was easy to put into action. By the way, I still keep up this routine and I am the most fit I have ever been. More on that in a future blog post 🙂

2.Start Now.

The intentions you have when you plan to start a goal set the tone for that entire goal. There is always a reason to delay a change whether it’s a vacation, work commitment, or family obligation. When you push off beginning to work on a goal you

A: run the risk of just never coming back to it or

B: Even if you do start working on the goal later, it won’t be with the same excitement and motivation that you would have had if you began the change right when you thought about it. If you really want to accomplish your goal, put it into action immediately! If needed, it can be a slow start, but don’t push off taking that first step!

3. Set the steps to Success.

So not only is making the goal specific important, for example “I want to lose 10 pounds” instead of “I want to work on my weight” or “I want to start save $5,000 this year” instead of “I want to be better with my money” but also setting the steps you’ll need to take to reach your goal. Because oftentimes we’re excited when we set the goal, but the goal is large and if we don’t have baby action steps that we can put into our calendars, we can’t ensure we stay on track to actually get there. So in the example of “losing 10 pounds” some baby steps might be finding a gym, registering for a workout class, speaking to a nutritionist, going through your pantry etc. You get to decide what steps work for you and in what order.

I hope you found these tips helpful.

I challenge you to evaluate some of the goals you may be working on today. Are they specific? Are you working on them consistently? Do you have a plan of how you’ll win?

XOXO,
Binie

My name is Binie Klein, and I am so happy you’re here!

Here’s a little bit about me: I was born and raised in Miami and I am the second of nine children. I love sushi and a good cocktail, working out, and spending time with friends and family.

I grew up with a lot of responsibility and family commitments. My parents started two non profit organizations. One is faith based and the other provides friendship and inclusion for individuals with special needs. From a young age, I was shown the beauty and importance of helping others. I can recount countless stories of watching my parents do good for others. I remember walking with my father in a local shopping plaza when he stopped to give a few dollars to a person in need. He instilled within me the value of helping others, regardless of their race and religion.

I later moved to New York to begin my professional career in Communications and Marketing. Throughout my career, I coached colleagues and clients in an unofficial manner, yet it was always something I truly enjoyed. After getting married and having a baby, I moved back to Miami and started thinking about my next steps. I was drawn to the world of coaching as I have always been a practical, action focused, bottom line oriented person. I love that coaching is so outcome focused. As I started to explore further, I knew I wanted to set myself apart. I didn’t want to be just another life coach, and I started to think about what is different about me.

I am not a quick fix. I am a coach for those who are really ready for real serious change. I am ready to work with people who really want to set lasting goals. Who really want to grab the reins and lead their own life by setting conscious, lasting choices. I dig deep and affect change from the inside out. I hold you accountable for your actions and goals and help you build the future and affect the change you dream of all while keeping your values and priorities in check.

If you are ready to create real change, set lasting goals, and establish concrete steps to create your dream reality, comment “I” below!

Thanks for being here!
